Ashpool is a late stage one colony which has began to slowly ramp up its industrialisation. The Ashpool Development Agency has recently formed the planets constitution and is
currently setting up the government. During the interim a Civil Service Agency is responsible for governmental duties. The Agency is accountable to each citizen and is funded by a grant set by the development agency.
The world is remarkably Earth like, with native plant and animal life which is edible to humans without the need for further supplements.
Since the first colonists arrived about a hundred years ago the population has settled throughout the central equatorial continent setting up plantations and cattle farms.
The two ethnic groups which have settled are widely separated with the Australian colonists settled in the ‘hotback’ region of the central desert, while the Canadian colonies are
centred around the ring mountains further to the east. Relations are very cordial as an unusual amount of intermarriage has occurred between colonies. Almost all travel between eastern and western settlements is a
result of family visits and tourism.
There are two Asteroids currently being mined as part of the increase in heavy industry. There are no Cloud scoops in operation yet, One of the large Islands in the southern
hemisphere has a small Tyranthca colony on it. The Tyranthca appear to plan an increase in the colonies size, though it is not thought that it will see an influx in immigration for another 100 years or so.
