Haalemsfal is the Only world to be colonised by Dutch Colonists, the Netherlands having been long since integrated into the United European States.
Haalamsfal is a water world, with only 4% of its surface above sea level. The small land masses are low lying and prone to flooding , something which made the original surveyors
reject the world for conventional colonisation efforts. However, a collection of Dutch businessmen petitioned for the licence to settle the world, pouring their combined wealth into the effort, they delivered the
first thousand settlers in 2292.
Today Haalemsfel is a mature colony which has successfully made the transition into an industrial economy. Most of the population is centred on a single small continent, about the
size of western Europe. The cities are partially domed to protect against tsunami and the occasional monster tornado.
Due to a lack of metal type asteroids, Haalemsfel’s two moons are instead the base for heavy industry. The main export is sea food, in direct competition with the Edenist water world
of Atlantis.
