This site will appear closer to the author's intent in a browser that supports
web standards,
but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
If you can read this, CSS (style sheets) is essentially disabled on this page, degrading the presentation but not losing any content.
That's due to either the CSS file being unavailable from the server, or your browser failing to understand it.
Non-English Glyphs
Or,
Is this an α I see before me?
Visit the discussion of the non-English glyphs problem here if the above heading doesn't contain a character that looks like a Greek lowercase alpha, or if you see box symbols or "?" in the middle of non-English words. Try switching character set to UTF-8 to fix them.
What WAS New
Because the What's New page was getting rather large, I decided to archive stuff over about 6 months old to another location. And this is it! There should be
entries each time I modified any page, latest is at the top of the list. Links
to each modified page too, although I may not immediately notice if I break a link on this page by renaming or rearranging files.
23 March 2004
Updates to the Anime Pin-Ups text file, and the console RPG page.
Sitewide changes to 2 new email addresses.
26 June 2003
Updates to my console games page. Added an FAQ for "Play with the Teletubbies," and sent it to GameFAQs. Revised a few other files: the Progress Quest FAQ, Robotrek manual, and Three Sisters.
Figured out code that brings the MIDI player back, assuming that your player is smart enough to publish a default size (width, height) for itself. MS Media Player is, Real One Player isn't. But it's standards-compatible!
More global changes to remove more deprecated presentation tags, progress towards XHTML 1.1 compliance. Revalidated everything as XHTML 1.0 Transitional as before.
31 December 2002
Symbol test page updated to drop Netscape 4.7 and add version 7. XHTML 1.1 compliance is in the works, but will take a while.
Global changes to improve linking to my home page, remove some deprecated presentation tags, and fix some broken external links. Revalidated everything as XHTML 1.0 Transitional — with the standard exclusions — and caught a few errors.
01 December 2002
Finally noticed (and fixed) a dumb table error on my console RPG page. Other changes due to a gaming magazine and stuff spotted in stores while shopping.
Lots of image files converted to be smaller in .PNG format, causing site-wide changes to the code but hopefully not what you see.
15 October 2002
Fixed more external links on several pages based on reports from the W3C Link Checker. Unfortunately, the Geocities bandwidth limit prevents me from checking the whole site at once. I know where most of the remaining bad links probably are, but they'll stay there until I do more site maintenance or somebody complains.
More corrections to the text manual for "Fountain of Dreams" on my computer games help page. If you have a complete manual or hintbook, and can make a copy, please contact me.
Fixed nearly all pages to call Javascript functions slightly differently. It shouldn't affect your view of the site at all. Re-validated all pages, catching some minor errors on one page. Updated the copyright notice on the home page. Global change for two links that moved, and lots of link maintenance on various pages.
Revised and renamed my text files for "The Crystal Skull" and "Mines of Titan" on my computer games help page and submitted them to GameFAQs.
Did some maintenance on my two H games pages, and posted the last known version of the DOS-J utility.
25 September 2002
Another update to my four fours FAQ page; this time I got a program in English called "200 Up" and a link to a Dutch program called "Telraam", so I provided links for them.
A draft version of a guide for "Fountain of Dreams" is in the works, but for now I'm just posting a corrected version of the manual on my computer games help page.
02 September 2002
Updated my console RPG page based on latest magazine received, and fixed a navigation glitch. I have serious doubts that Shining Lore will release on Xbox and PS2 on time, as the English PC beta test is almost 2 months late and counting.
Second update today! Added a text file for "Viper Limited Edition" to my two H games pages, and tinkered with the "LoveLoveShow!" file after noticing some of the same omake with both.
31 August 2002
Sorry for the delay since the last update! But I've got a load of stuff for you. First, an update to my four fours FAQ page; while I've received a copy of the software, I'm not going to host it for download because of the Geocities bandwidth limit, and I haven't had time to test it myself either.
Added text files for 3 different "mainstream" computer games on my computer games help page, which apparently hasn't changed in a LONG time. If you're interested in "Freedom Force", "Escape From Hell" or "Progress Quest" then check it out!
Added a text file for "LoveLoveShow!" to my two H games pages, revised the list of "gone" companies, revised my "H Games FAQ" (particularly the legal copyright and distribution statement), and added a bunch of "just got" stuff to Pete's list and the table version of the page. Still trying to get a big player in the bishojo game business to host this content, but we're both slackers.
Fixed some "under the hood" stuff with the age roadblock Javascript popup. Thanks for the advice, you know who you are!
Site-wide changes to mask email addresses from harvester and spam-bots, switch to a shorter URL.
05 May 2002
Alex at Otaku asked me to change how I refer to his company, which used to make translations of H games. So I altered my text list, and my two H games pages. Also added a link to an external site "The Japanese Gaming Guide to Windows® XP" on those 2 pages. Negotiations are ongoing to host my adult games content under a more adult-oriented provider.
Added an external link to another game store chain on my console RPG page. Updated the Robotrek FAQ again.
Changed email address for adult and games content in many web pages and text files.
20 April 2002
The well-known abandonware site "Home of the Underdogs" changed their top-level URL, so I had to alter my Hard Nova page and a bunch of text files for games that you can download or get information from there. In particular, modified my short text file for Princess Maker 2 because there's new information at HotU about the availability of the English beta version.
A few minor tweaks to my console RPG page based on the latest issue of Game Informer magazine.
11 April 2002
Fixed tables for Draka small arms so they aren't a fixed number of pixels wide.
Took invisible hyphens out of Domination timeline and Domination military text; while they pass the validator, a search on the word without the hyphen will fail.
One of the H games that I pre-ordered arrived, so I fixed my H games lists, but I've been busy setting up a new computer. Plans are in development to relocate this site — or at least the H games portion of it — to another server. Some of the walkthrough content might be changed to be served by JAST USA; you'd have to provide proof of a legal copy of the game to get all the info. If this works, I plan to have pictures for the games, saved games or modified files, and of course less "bandwidth lockout." Please stand by…
One of the external links that I added to my Draka page last month is already gone.
24 March 2002
Added the remaining "middle" appendices from the Draka novels to the site, get to them from the Draka Appendices page.
Added LINK REL="start" pointers to pages that are part of a multi-page collection.
Fixed some incorrect use of commas and dashes, "immigrate to" and "emigrate from" on several pages.
Updated the first two sections of the Draka 2α Timeline with some minor changes I'd been working on for a while.
Upgraded to Netscape 4.79, but that didn't change anything on the symbol test page really. Tinkered with a few characters on that page, and where they were used elsewhere.
But upgrading to MsIE 6.0 did reveal that I had my stylesheet invocation wrong for a while! Luckily, I finally have a global search/replace available to fix all the files in a jiffy.
19 March 2002
Permission received from SMS, so after modifying the copyright and permission statements, posted the first 4 and the last 6 appendices from the first 3 Draka novels. You can access them through the Draka appendices page. I'll get the other ones up someday. Added a few new external links and improved the disclaimer on my Draka page, tweaked a few minor things in the "Connecticut Yankee" fanfic (but still no significant new content). Contacted AMT, but no idea when her website might come back.
Wiped out nearly all the FONT tags on my site. Globally changed how one link in the navigation bar was handling the TITLE attribute, and what the value was. Added a few more WebTV warnings for wide (>544 pixels) images used on some pages.
Converted a lot more pages to XHTML 1.0, and caught a few errors that were somehow legal in HTML 4.01 but not what's built on it.
Fixed more dead or moved external links scattered around my pages. That link checker seems rather picky about where it starts…
Got some info from the developer of several adult games sold by Pixis, so I updated my non-anime adult games page and all of the "Pixis" text files accessible from there.
Did a lot of work on the browser symbol test page to add more alternates for some symbols, and several other major changes; the update is described on the page.
Got the rest of the site ready to host the appendices from the Draka books. Just need to get permission from S. M. Stirling, which shouldn't be a problem since versions of these files were earlier hosted elsewhere. Also searching for Anne Marie Talbott to get her Draka fanfics for hosting here if her website is truly gone.
08 March 2002
Changed all HTML pages some more: changed "Browser upgrade appeal" code so now it triggers on IE5.5 and other browsers that don't understand CSS @import syntax.
Converted home page and top page of Draka 2α timeline to XHTML 1.0. Revalidated everything as HTML 4.01 or XHTML 1.0, and caught one minor error in a list of games.
Cleaned up the HTML in my copy of the "How I Damned the World" Draka fanfic, now just waiting on the original author's permission to host it.
Changed all HTML pages some more: deleted links to Geocities that used to be mandatory, deleted some dead offsite links.
This page converted to XHTML 1.0 and validated. Added some global stylesheet settings to support mass conversion of the rest of my site.
FTP was still working when I tried it last, but I don't expect it after April 2nd.
05 March 2002
Changed all HTML pages to better specify a bug in a version of MSIE, version of Javascript needed to run my scripts (1.3 AFAIK), urge people to upgrade their browsers if they're not up to standards.
Removed the non-standard MIDI player stuff from the pages that had it, for a number of reasons. I apologize to all those who cursed my name because those pages could start playing music that you couldn't shut off.
Another minor update to the Robotrek FAQ, but I won't be pushing this one out to GameFAQs.
Fixed a typo in one link to the "Tokimeki Check in!" solve file. Thanks for letting me know, David!
Unfortunately, Geocities/Yahoo either lied or jumped the gun and shut off FTP access a month early for free users. That makes doing updates a major pain. So I'm going to look into moving this site to another provider or even to ADSL from home. Advice is welcome.
02 March 2002
Updated all the hit counters to correct size and time zone.
More "games that I don't have" and "games I don't want" info changed on my console games page.
Added a file for "Tokimeki Check in!" to the my H games (text and lists version) page, my H games (tables version) page and updated my text games list file. Anyone that has an "IN PROGRESS" version of the walkthrough should replace it with this completed one. "Giniro" should be next. Minor additions to the H games FAQ.
Added "breadcrumbs" navigation links at the top of all HTML pages. Fixed the messed-up map image from the Pokémon manual.
20 February 2002
Changed the Arcana and Robotrek FAQs yet again, hopefully these will be the last ones for a while. Get to them on my console games page, which was itself updated to account for console games news.
Also updated the my H games (text and lists version) page and my H games (tables version) page to account for RCY America's site finally disappearing, as well as the Dragon Knight 4 Translation Team going "404" (although Cipher may start another web page if there's progress to report). Also fixed some things on my text games list file and table version page (nobody told me about the bad link for Yumemi!). There's been significant progress on "Tokimeki Check in!" and "Giniro", but nothing completed yet. Added some (unverified by me so far) instructions on how to get specific endings in "Time Stripper Mako" provided by "Shuji Yamagami". Also fixed some typos and long lines in a few text files for games, but nothing significant.
Also, the yahoo.com email that I was using on my adult and H games pages should now be forwarding email like it's supposed to - again. Apologies to everyone that thought I was ignoring them, except for the idiots that tried sending me a virus or obvious scam or spam. I've taken care of most, but not all, of the messages that were sent there since last August or so.
Re-validated site as HTML 4.01 Transitional except for MIDI handling code and browser testing. Caught several missing character set declarations, bad characters copied in from Word documents, and one line of HTML that shouldn't have been there at all.
08 February 2002
Several images were converted to PNG format because they're smaller that way, and the pages using them were edited.
And another reader's message got me to remove the erroneous information that I was missing copies of Paradise Heights from my H games text list and my H games (tables version) page.
21 November 2001
Optimized the rest of the images used in the site. Almost all of these should appear the same as before, just smaller file size.
Got the artwork from Donavan Barrett, the original author, to go with the "Yearnings" Draka fanfic, and added it to the page.
Figured out the sad old adult game "Planet of Lust" from Free Spririt Software, which had "Sex Olympics" as a sequel. Put a solve file for this game on my non-anime adult games page.
Did maintenance on a few dead external links, fixed some verbiage on the home page. If Anne Marie Talbott's site is truly gone, I may post the copies of the Draka fanfics that I downloaded from there or the appendices that I transcribed for her.
Some of you may have been inconvenienced by the recent Geocities move to enforce bandwidth limits. Sorry, about all I can do is remove content, as the images that are up are almost as optimized as I can get. If I start getting complaints, I'll accelerate my long-term plan to move the H games content to a different server.
Figured out the sad old adult game "Sex Olympics" from Free Spririt Software that I downloaded from the Darker & Ozyrys site a while ago. Put a solve file for this game on my non-anime adult games page.
Got approval from Donavan Barrett, the original author, to post the long-lost "Yearnings" Draka fanfic. I made some editing changes to the text, and HTML changes that will please both HTML validators and the Geocities rules enforcers. Changes elsewhere in my site to add this page.
More minor changes to the file for "Snow Drop", and adds to my game list text file due to news from PeaPri. Some updates to my H games (text and lists version) page) and my H games (tables version) page. "Tokimeki Check In!" is in progress; have a photoshop patch, but I've seen only 2 endings so far.
My "Connecticut Yankee" fanfic is taking an unexpected turn to follow up on an incident in "The Stone Dogs"; I just couldn't leave Nelson's eyepatch alone… And someday, I'll let you all see what happens when Rynn and Frank meet, I promise. Minor changes in all areas, one large block of text added in Chapter 1.
Changed nearly all the .GIF images on the site so they are smaller in file size without noticeably affecting visible colors. I think I got the transparency effects correct for those images that use it, but I have to check. Caught one encoding goof by Microsoft Paint in a flag image.
Received the English/Italian/Spanish/German version of Viper V16, played it and kicked out a documentation/walkthrough/patch file for all the H gamers out there. Go to my H games (text and lists version) page) and my H games (tables version) page. Updated my H games list too. Minor fixes to the Viper M1 file.
04 July 2001
More minor changes to the Draka 2α Timeline pages and the "Damned" timeline. Added a page for the flags on the Draka 2α Timeline, fixed other pages on the site to compensate. USA state flags after 1894 still need to be drawn and then posted, although I may redo from 1876 on again soon anyway. Some known timeline changes after 1877 still to be entered.
Fixed a bunch of pages to add trailing slash ("/") characters to links where appropriate, just to avoid some extra server traffic. Reduced a few GIF images slightly in color depth or edited them to make them smaller in file size. Did link maintenance (rearranging, adding, striking out bad ones) for my 3 adult games pages.
08 June 2001
After coming to editorial consensus with Joe Bisio, I changed the Paths of Glory page and both downloadable files. Added a link to the BOARDGAMER magazine site, where some of Joe's rules are in a cover/feature article (edited by John Loth) in the April 2001 issue.
Minor changes to my Draka page to add and update some links. Changed the Draka 2α Timeline top page to update a link and handle the CSS change bars better. Minor changes throughout the Draka 2α Timeline pages from 1654 to 1939, added some flags for the USA of this timeline, checked all the links.
I'm no longer in Albuquerque, so the information about video game stores there will get removed eventually once I find equivalent places in southern California. Got one more hint book. Currently working on "Vanguard Bandits", so will someday have some comments on the hardcover strategy guide for it. All this refers to my console RPG page.
Fixed bad line wrapping in the text files for Nocturnal Illusion, 3 Sisters and Mesuneko. Changes to the H Games FAQ file. All available from my H games (text and lists version) page) and my H games (tables version) page. Had one report that attempting to download any of my ZIP files from these pages asks for a password, but I can't figure out why. Anybody else having this problem? Let me know! Temporarily fixed a bad link for the Graduation game on my H games (tables version) page. I suspect the company no longer sells it though.
This site is celebrating 4 years on the Net as of 27 March!
Changes to the console RPG page for buying "Harvest Moon: BTN", got a catalog at GameStop. "Dark Cloud" is coming for PS2 but isn't in my list for some unknown reason (probably real-time combat); if I can live with it, I'll put it back in.
Added entries about the "3 sizes" with centimeters-to-inches conversion tables, and an update on the JAST photoshop problem, to my H games FAQ. Updated my "Lakers 2" text file and my H games list, added a link to the DOS-J home page, deprecated the link to the H Gamer's Guide now that it's gone. All available from my H games (text and lists version) page and my H games (tables version) page.
Recently lost the ability to check my site with the IE 4.0 browser, and temporarily Netscape as well. For now, I can only guarantee that my stuff looks OK in IE 5.5!
21 March 2001
Got some more time in on it, and some help from another player, so the "X-Change" file now has how to get all 7 known endings. So, updated my H games text list and both my H games (text and lists version) page and my H games (tables version) page. Changed the title for the game too, and that's all I'll say about that… Added some links to H games sites that link to mine.
What WAS new page got rather large, so partially edited it for brevity.
17 March 2001
Changes to the console RPG page to remove ICO (action/adventure), noticed release of Phantasy Star Online and Ring of Red, other news gathered from latest issue of Game Informer magazine, skipping "The Legend of Alon D'Ar" (was "Eternal Blade") because of real-time combat.
The same potential privacy problem fixed in the Eurasian War scenario files archive. Only one minor change to the text of the .DOC files inside, about printing the .PS files.
Global site change to different emails, to account for switching to a new ISP and trying to separate my email traffic better. The old email address should only forward for one month, so you'd better have a version of the web page or document dated today or later if you want to contact me!
13 March 2001
It's been over 3 months since I last mentioned it, so here's another reminder. I've now been working on the RC5-64 contest for Distributed.net, the distributed computing effort that I participate in, for 3 years as of 10 March! Anyway, if you want a miniscule chance of getting in on the $10,000 for the RC5-64 contest, there's still time to join! At the rate they're going, I don't think they'll finish until sometime in 2004, but somebody could always get lucky… I won't press you to join my team (which is still in the top 20 overall), or any of them, but I think it's a great use of idle CPU cycles that otherwise are wasted. (SETI@home is another possibility, but I'll let you look that one up yourself.) And if you're not interested in the money, you could always configure your distributed.net client to work on just the OGR mathematical investigations.
More changes to my browser symbol test page to tinker with the Browser Upgrade code and add a link for free machine translation of the page into other languages. Unfortunately, I don't know how somebody who can't read English is supposed to know to click on it…
The DRAKSIMP.DOC and BATDRAK.DOC files (Word 97 versions of two of my Drakon crossover fanfics) were updated to remove a unique document identifier that was a potential privacy problem. No changes to the text.
Made some long-held updates to my post-Eurasian War chronology page for the Domination of the Draka. However, the next version of this will probably be a master chronology including the "Timeline of the Domination" from Marching Through Georgia. That's only because the existing web version has some typos and the site hasn't been updated in years.
Just got my pre-ordered copy of "X-Change" in the mail! Put together a "quick look" review and developed a photoshop patch in only a few hours, but I haven't played the game through to work on the supposed multiple endings. So, updated my H games text list, and both my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page so you can see what I've done. Also added a link to the "real" Nocturnal Illusion patch site, and fixed some minor differences between the 2 H games pages.
08 March 2001
Change to the Hard Nova page to fix an unintentionally bad external link.
Updated my browser symbol test page after my IE 4.0 computer was upgraded from Windows 95b to NT 4.0; improvements apparently due to Unicode support either in the OS or the fonts, not any browser changes. Some minor HTML changes while I "had the hood up."
In a move akin to shooting myself in the foot so everyone can call themselves a veteran if they listen to me scream, I'm supporting the Browser Upgrade campaign at the Web Standards Project, and changing my CSS and HTML to work properly only on "5.0" browsers. This unfortunately includes the IE 4.0 and Netscape 4.75 that I use most often, leaving IE 5.5 as my only "good" browser to see if I'm correctly implementing advanced things like CSS and JavaScript. This means that some visitors may think my site has suddenly gone backwards in graphic presentation, and here's your notice that this was actually intentional and for your own good.
Minor changes on this page to fix typos and inconsistencies in how external links were handled.
04 March 2001
Changes to the console RPG page because I got rid of a lot of action RPGs; I stink at real-time combats or platform jumping. Deleted a few upcoming releases that got bad reviews or are action RPGs.
Finally noticed another reference to Joe Bisio's email that I missed earlier, on my main Draka page.
Minor change to the home page to update the browsers tested against.
21 February 2001
Got some updated release dates for the Peach Princess H games into my H games text list. Go to my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page to get to it, or sign up yourself for the mailing list at the Peach Princess site. Also added a text file for "Return to Paradise Heights" (which has several different interpretations of the title of the Japanese release, so I'll just use "KR2" here), and made minor fixes to the "Metal & Lace 2" and "Nocturnal Illusion" text files found at the same pages.
Added a text file for the "Private Snapshots 3" adult CD-ROM (I hesitate to call it a "game") to my adult games page, and made minor changes to the text file for "Surfin' Sam".
18 February 2001
Can't seem to get an email to that abandonware site about my PM2 FAQ. Problem at their end, it seems. Oh well…
Found that my favorite abandonware site is hosting a downloadable copy of the Princess Maker 2 beta in English. So I updated my short text file about the game to give the website address. Also notified the website maintainer that I have an FAQ for the English version that's better than the old one for the Japanese one that they had. Go to my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page and look for the "pm2.txt" file. Also added some information about Peach Princess and their products to the above pages.
After getting a second question about the difference between NR-13 and NR-18 modes in Knights of Xentar, I added an item to my FAQ to answer them. Get the slightly revised KoX FAQ from the pages mentioned in the previous item.
Forgot to mention earlier that Miurasoft is back online! (I complained about the site disappearing on 4/21/00, but that's gone now.) You can download a complete version of Miura Warrior there, if you like old-school anime RPGs. I finally got to the end (demo stopped signficantly before that point) and enjoyed it, but it still crashes occasionally on my machine.
Still playing M&M1. Resumed working on a complete chronology of the Domination using all the Stirling source material available (all 4 books with appendices). Betcha nobody cares, though…
5 February 2001
The world will be glad to hear that I won't be inflicting a text file for the DOS RPG "Daemonsgate" on it; I gave up on the frustrating interface. Games shouldn't let you get lost in the main character's home town even when you have a paper map. It had trouble recognizing clicks or keypresses too. Another box going to Goodwill…
Been playing "Might & Magic" (the first title in the series), will be sending updates on the text files to the authors if possible.
Added a text file and GIF map for the "Latex" adult CD-ROM game to my adult games page.
Rearranged a few entries for upcoming releases on the console RPG page. A minor update to the Robotrek FAQ, to v2.01, thanks to John Stainton for several things!
06 January 2001
Minor change to Joe Bisio's email address on the "Paths of Glory" page, just in case upper/lowercase is significant.
This is the last one of these for about 39 years, so enjoy it! On this day in the Domination: The Domination of the Draka begins Final Society (FS) calendar; this is the 1st Year of the Final Society.
And for those of us not living in a dystopia, welcome to the 21st century and a new millenium! (2000 was the last year of a century and millenium.)
Changes to the console RPG page due to titles spotted in stores, updated release dates seen elsewhere on the web.
Since December 7th or so, I've been working on Robotrek to generate a really complete walkthrough. When I got to Prinky's house and the Clock Tower, I got just as frustrated as some of the emails I've received, trying to figure out how to find Flavon and Mint in the West Wing again. Knowing you did it once before, but didn't write it down, doesn't help much 2 years later! Also decoded the text in the game ROM to see if there's anything else we've missed. So, if you've been waiting for a new Robotrek FAQ, v2.00 is now on the console RPG page. Fixed a few typos in the manual transcription too. I'll be notifying the places that have the FAQ posted, so they can get the newest one.
Also changed the console RPG page to account for finally getting Lunar 2 and some more used guidebooks.
07 December 2000
Joe Bisio sent me another scenario file, and after a little editing I added it to the first ZIP file available on the "Paths of Glory" page. This one is a "historical" scenario starting in Fall 1914. There may be another Draka scenario coming too.
Just when you thought I'd tell everyone who emailed me about it to go away and get a life, I started playing Robotrek again. I'll have to go through all the hints and questions that I received to make sure that I answer them all. When I finish the game a second time, I'll release what I hope will be the "final" version of the Robotrek FAQ.
04 December 2000
It's been 4 months since I last mentioned it, so here's another reminder. I've now been working on the RC5-64 contest for Distributed.net, the distributed computing effort that I participate in, for 1,000 days! Anyway, if you want a miniscule chance of getting in on the $10,000 for the RC5-64 contest, there's still time to join! At the rate they're going, I don't think they'll finish until sometime in 2002, but somebody could always get lucky… I won't press you to join my team (which is still in the top 20 overall), or any of them, but I think it's a great use of idle CPU cycles that otherwise are wasted. (SETI@home is another possibility, but I'll let you look that one up yourself.) And if you're not interested in the money, you could always configure your distributed.net client to work on just the OGR mathematical investigations.
Added "Muku" and "Moon Light Energy" to the solved pile of H games, with MUKU.TXT and MOONLTEN.TXT now available. Also fixed SILK.TXT and METLACE2.TXT. Also added IMCUMBAT.TXT to the adult games page for the waste of disk space "Immoral Cumbat". Get to these text files from my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page, and my adult games page. Updated my games list too.
Fixed the pages that had empty table cells.
23 November 2000
Just finished playing "Metal & Lace 2", if there's only 4 pictures for each of 7 girls. There's no photoshop patch because of the encryption used in the Registry entries, and I still can't get screen captures, but there's a few points in my METLACE2.TXT that aren't covered in the ML2 FAQ written by somebody else (ML2FAQ.TXT). Also found another patch for Metal & Lace, so I put it in my omnibus ML patch file, and updated the METLACE.TXT and PETELIST.TXT files too. All of this is available from my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page.
22 November 2000
Finally have all the pages using the same navigation presentation. Minor fixes on several pages too.
Just realized that my script to automatically provide the date a page was last modified runs on UTC time or something similar, not my local time zone. That can sometimes lead to pages appearing to be "Last updated:" tomorrow! But odds are nobody will care… If anyone complains, then I'll look into correcting from UTC to my local time zone in the script.
Slimmed down all pages slightly by putting all my utility JavaScripts in a single file. Caught a few minor errors in MIDI playing and the JavaScripts. Another round of HTML 4.01 validation using The W3C HTML Validation Service, caught a few errors and fixed them.
Replaced the "Home" icon with a home-made one by me that was inspired by Playstation control button icons I did earlier. (Really gotta get a global file editor to make site maintenance easier…) Also fixed a few minor glitches on various pages that hopefully only I noticed. Converted most of the remaining pages to the new table-based navigation presentation. Next to do is a Sitemap icon with the same type of graphics.
17 November 2000
Before I've even finished installing the table-based navigation code on all the pages in my site, I came up with some changes to it. Don't worry, I'm only adding a "backwards" in addition to the "forwards/next". The first pages to have this are the "Paths of Glory" page and the sitemap.
Changes to the "Connecticut Yankee" fanfic are overdue. But this time around, there's just a conversion to the latest navigation presentation for all the pages in that area. There are minor content changes to Appendix B and a footnote in Chapter 1, and I fixed a few typos here and there.
Joe Bisio and I finally agree on the wording of the next batch of additional rules, so I added the Pognesup.doc file into the POGFILES.ZIP available on the "Paths of Glory" page. Also changed some wording so that if the map typos are fixed on the next reprint, I'm covered.
More PS2 titles and 1 N64 title seen, bought a PSX game and guidebook, so updated the console RPG page.
Some changes to the text file for the Cobra Mission adult anime game, including where to download both the English and Spanish versions! Get to it on my H games (text and lists version) page or my H games (tables version) page. I still have some information about a 16th girl picture to add though.
Added more external links to the "Paths of Glory" page; Joe Bisio was busy while I was on vacation! Expect a minor rules supplement to be added as soon as Joe and I hash out the editing.
20 October 2000
Converted the main Draka 2alpha timeline page and several underneath it to new navigation presentation. Began adding red change bars to timeline pages so it's easier to spot what I've modified recently. I've got another batch of changes in the works to fix lingering old stuff on the Q&A page, and the removal of the "Items in Progress" page - that one hasn't done anything since I put it on, and my research has gone elsewhere since. Gotta trim the fat somewhere… I hope to convert the last few remaining pages in the next week. And I'll put a "backwards" button on some pages to go to the previous page in a sequence.
Changed some HTML on lots of pages, but it should be invisible to the casual visitor.
Spotted some PS2 titles already available at the local Gamespot, and picked up a catalog of current and expected releases. Bought 2 more PSX games used. Found links for some more game makers. So, changes to the console RPG page. Been feeding all the CDs that I can lay my hands on into "Monster Rancher Battle Cards"…
17 October 2000
Noticed and corrected a minor HTML mistake on the adult games page regarding Arabian Nights.
Converted both H Games pages to new navigation presentation and fixed some HTML. That should leave only some Draka pages to go.
16 October 2000
Converted the Legend of Legaia demo, post-Eurasian War history, Drakon/Batman fanfic, Sitemap and "what WAS new" pages. Minor HTML corrections on some other pages. Since I'm usually not significantly changing the useful content when I do these HTML changes to get to the new navigation presentation, I'm going to stop giving links to the changed pages. In fact, I'm taking out the links to them in previous entries as well, unless there was a content change noted.
Some "hidden" pages that are in development are getting a lot more hits than just from me, so I guess the search engine robots have been busy! Don't worry, when they're all ready you'll all get your chance to see them.
Styles are now provided by one separate CSS file, rather than having to maintain the styles sections on more and more individual HTML files. This should make M$IE happy.
Minor HTML tweaks (more TITLEs on links, additional external links) on a few pages that people don't visit much anyway. Converted my Wizardry 7 page, non-computer-games stuff page, Pete's Stuff page, the symbol test for browsers page and the Dragon Wars stuff page. Actually, not all of these were converted in this update, but it looks like I forgot to mention them earlier. This should leave only a bunch of Draka pages, the two H games pages, and a few others to go. Another round of HTML 4.01 validation; caught only a few more bad apostrophe characters imported from Word.
09 October 2000
Converted this page and my Hard Nova page to the new navigation scheme. Also updated the link to download the Hard Nova game.
Counters were replaced on all pages. Because I changed the number of hits under the new counters to include what the old counters got, you may have seen some strange numbers over the past few days. I haven't checked all my pages, so let me know if something still doesn't look right to you.
Added a page for the World War I wargame "Paths of Glory". The files available here were created by Joe Bisio, with some editing by me. Includes "historical" scenarios and optional rules, and 2 scenarios set in the alternate history of the Draka. This has been in the works for months, literally! Minor changes to sitemap and other pages that link to this one too.
07 October 2000
Revised the "Mines of Titan" file slightly.
Geocities is changing to a different counter mechanism, so I'll be putting new counters on all the pages for a while.
Changed the LINK REV="made" line in the HEAD across the site; it isn't a supported link type in HTML 4.01. They're now REL="next" instead. Complained to Microsoft that IE4 (at least) thinks anything in a LINK tag must be a stylesheet, but I don't expect they'll care.
Updated the the console RPG page for the release of Parasite Eve II, release news from the latest SM, some guidebooks purchased, release of RPG Maker, fix to all external links (see next item), list of PS2 release titles.
Converted the Four Fours FAQ page and the Wizardry 6 advice page to the new menu bar and JavaScript stuff seen on some other pages, since they happened to be the pages with the oldest modification date when I started. Also converted the home page (added a little about the Karsanow family too), the computer games help page, my Draka page, and the Adult Games Helper page as well. Made sure these, and the previously converted pages, were using "browser-safe" colors as found at Dave Raggett's intro to CSS.
Unfortunately, the conversion leaves no convenient place for the "on this day in the Domination" Final Society and Terran Dispersal calendar notes on the Draka-related pages. But that's OK, since the only date-specific events left for the next few years from The Stone Dogs and Drakon are:
10 September to 30 September 2000: New America maneuvering to depart solar system.
1 October 2000: New America passes orbit of Pluto and officially departs solar system, broadcasts final specs on comp-plague back to Domination.
5 October 2000: New America exits suicide-run range of DASCS Lionheart orbiting Pluto, and continues accelerating on a 40-year trip to Alpha Centauri.
1 January 2001: Domination of the Draka begins Final Society calendar; this is the 1st Year of the Final Society.
A note on searching: I did some research a while ago, trying to put a form on each of my pages that would let you search my pages (only). However, Geocities/Yahoo only allows me to use their own domain-wide search engine, or nothin'. Since I can't find a way to restrict searching to just my own pages, it's nothin' - sorry!
Caught several minor HTML glitches on the Pokémon manual page. Guess I should run everything through a validation check again!
Played "Divi-Dead" and got 4 of the 5 known endings. Patch/review file and walkthrough file (modified from the one available at Himeya Soft's website) are accessible from the H games page and the H games table page. Warning: the Divi-Dead walkthrough file still has some "?" in it, because I haven't exhaustively tested for the minimum moves necessary to keep the story moving. So, if something doesn't seem to work, try going to other locations like those with "?" in front of the name. But be careful around the F701/801 points, or you might change the ending accidentally.
While I was at it, put the menu bar and JavaScript stuff seen on a few other pages already into the Drakon/Simpsons fanfic page and Drew's page, since those happened to be the two pages with the oldest modification dates at the time.
Spotted Valkyrie Profile, so updated the the console RPG page. Got some PS2 info in an out-of-town game store, but I'm hoping to get a better look at it here in ABQ soon.
Don't remember what I did to the Wizardry VII page, but it says here that I did something…
Revised the text file for Virgin Girls Fighter (VG Fighter, VGF) because somebody suggested putting the .efc files in a /EFC subdirectory to get sound to work. No joy. File accessible from the H games page and the H games table page.
24 August 2000
Added more to my Pokédex and Pokémon play notes. Revised the Pokémon Red/Blue manual page to US version. Spotted 2 new PSX games. Bought two more used PSX games. Added a "have Guidebook" column for PSX games that I own. See it all from or on the console RPG page.
Joe said the scripts work now, although I didn't do anything, so it must have been something at the Compuserve or Geocities/Yahoo server end. But let me know if something isn't working, please!
I got "The Operational Art of War: Volume 1 (1939-1955)" recently, but I don't have time to learn it, let alone design any Eurasian War scenarios with it. Don't have "Axis & Allies: Iron Blitz" yet either, just the original one without the scenario editor. As soon as some more editing is completed, will post Joe Bisio's "Out of Africa" Draka scenario for the WWI wargame "Paths of Glory". Moved some text around on the Draka 2α timeline, so the first 3 section pages are closer to the same size. Added links to the detailed Second Great War pages for 1940-43 and 1947 to the top timeline page.
Fixed up the text file for Nocturnal Illusion, but nothing really new, so you don't have to rush to read/download it.
Some of the above was the result of a hunt for accented characters being used directly in HTML text, e.g. pasted directly from the Character Map accessory or entered using Alt-#-#-#. I got a bunch, but I'm sure there are more out there, lurking…
I finally took care of Ian's objection to the Draka being involved in an American Civil War, and created the Slaver Exodus of 1862. It affects what's seen in the 1815-1916 section and the Small Arms Development page of the Draka 2α timeline. Let me know what you think of these changes!
Worked on the "Pet" H game, and got the bad ending twice. Followed up on some old notes and dug out my copy of Susie, and verified that you can get all the MAG graphics out of Pet using it. So, "Pet" is added to the solved pile of H games, see the H games page and the H games table page. Got the "Light Up" game recently at an anime convention in Dallas, finally played it, and wrote it up. Look at the pages mentioned above to get to the hint/review text file for it.
09 August 2000
Uploaded the Pokémon battle chart image that I forgot to yesterday. It seems I'm the first to look at that page as of a few minutes ago, so no harm done.
Got one complaint that my scripts aren't working for somebody using Compuserve. Unfortunately, that doesn't help much without a specific page or line number. Turns out I've got several different scripts floating around on my site: anti-frames, age challenge, MIDI music playing, and a beta test of a file modification date display that isn't for public consumption yet. So, Joe B, or anyone else having problems, let me know with some specific info! As I've said before, it won't get fixed if I don't know about it…
08 August 2000
Added links for all known stores where I've bought used PSX games to the console RPG page. Bought more games, got another SM.
More updates to the Pokémon material – revised the Pokédex (Access database), my text notes, and added a transcribed manual for Pokémon Red/Blue as an HTML page. All of it accessible from the console RPG page. By the way, both pages mentioned are sporting a new navigation design with some minor use of CSS styles. Let me know if you like it, hate it, or it makes your browser cough up hairballs and place bids for cases of left-handed scissors. If I don't get negative comments, I'll soon be using this design all over the site as I make changes to various pages.
Still working on the Draka 2α timeline. Added a lot of interesting OTL events, more about Ferguson and Tarleton, many minor changes, and sequences about American female suffrage, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Quaker Legions. Expect a major change to the 1860s, a lot more data about the expansion of the USA, and the deletion of the "in progress" page (since none of it is really going anywhere anytime soon). May soon be getting a wargame scenario for The Great War (WWI-equivalent) in the canonical Draka timeline, developed by another Draka fan.
Tweaking the site's look in another minor way too, by hiding the frame-busting section of HTML from any browser that allows scripting. This is on the assumption that if it skips a <NOSCRIPT> block, your browser has already run the invisible frame buster script, so I don't have to bother the user with a visible reminder. Again, let me know if this is somehow causing problems for you. Most of my pages don't have this change installed yet, but it's spreading…
The "Connecticut Yankee in the Archon's Court" fanfic got a facelift. Moved a lot of information out of the appendices into footnotes. Appendix A is now just the description of the Point of Divergence for Frank's world. Appendix B is now just a discussion of the Alliance military. A few minor changes to the text.
Figured out that Internet Explorer 4.0 will crash if named anchors (e.g. <A HREF="#somewhere">) are invoked (clicked on) that lead to the same or another HTML file, but only when the source file is within a Briefcase! It's a problem that's bothered me for a while, but at least there's a work-around: copy the file(s) to outside the Briefcase, or upload them to the website and test them there.
The big change this time around is an update to the text file for the anime game Knights of Xentar. After getting what at first I thought was a dumb question from a pirate, I discovered that the game manual doesn't explicitly tell you how to do some things. While I had the game up, I checked on a few things that I had previously listed as unverified. Anyway, see the H games page or the H games table page to check out the revised KoX file.
19 July 2000
Put some time in on Pokémon, it's been a while! Changes to the text file and Pokédex in Access. Acessible from the console RPG page. And a few changes on that page due to the recent issue of Silicon Magazine, and buying Legend of Mana.
It's been 7 months since I last mentioned them, and now is a good time to remind everyone again. Distributed.net, the distributed computing effort that I participate in, has now been working on the RC5-64 contest for 1,000 days! I've been participating for over 850 days according to their statistics, but I can only find my log files going back to 06 April 1998 right now. Anyway, if you want a miniscule chance of getting in on the $10,000 for the RC5-64 contest, there's still time to join! At the rate they're going, I don't think they'll finish until sometime in 2001, but somebody could always get lucky… I won't press you to join my team (which is still in the top 10 overall), or any of them, but I think it's a great use of idle CPU cycles that otherwise are wasted. (SETI@home is another possibility, but I'll let you look that one up yourself.) And if you're not interested in the money, you could always configure your distributed.net client to work on just the OGR-24 (and then OGR-25) mathematical investigations. The prizes for that one are currently one English shilling (for the block that exhausts the keyspace), and a mixed bag of British, U.S. and Dutch currency worth less than $500 for the "winner".
Added a few <TITLE> attributes here and there on the site.
Completing removing links to an entertainment purveyor of rodent-based origin, partially based on alleged censorship activities the company took at a recent anime convention held at one of their properties. You can look at baby pictures instead, if you can't handle adult content or the non-PC Drakaverse.
Tweak to text shown if your browser can't support <EMBED> for MIDI music, on several pages in this site.
Several minor changes to the Draka 2α timeline. All of them are what I promised back on the 12th, and didn't actually copy from Word documents into HTML. My bad!
Realized that I'd been using the word "timeline" two different ways. So now I call a listing of a sequence of events a chronology, and the alternate history that the chronology describes a "timeline." Got it? That required changes to my Draka page to get straight. A few changes to the post-Eurasian War chronology too, including stuff that's been sitting around since my last pass through the books.
12 July 2000
Lots of minor changes to the Draka 2α timeline. Added a link to an alternate history of another non-Nazi German military regime. Reading it inspired some of my events in Germany around the time of the Second Great War. Asked the author for some help with my "militia-intensive" USA. Changed northern boundary of British West Africa in 1805 map, and described it in text. Also made Oregon territory British, as it apparently was OTL. Changed western/northern boundary of US after "War of 1812" on maps, and described it in text. Alternate "Little Big Horn" and aftermath for the American Indians added. Explained why Russia wants western Finland after The Great War. Mustafa Kemal added. Removed provocative incidents in the Aegean during 1923-29, now they're in 1940 during Domination invasion of Greece. Domination recognition of united Ireland deleted, but US may do something different in response… Maps fixed so Britain is no longer the same color as a sea boundary, fixed minor goofs with Puerto Rico, Cyprus, and southern Burma. "Luftwaffe" is still considered a German word, just not emphasized (usually rendered in italics) anymore. A few minor changes involving foreign words throughout, and one in the Connecticut Yankee fanfic. Based on some meditation on the role of the USA in the original Stirling timeline, and similar feeling by the author of several timelines that I've been corresponding with lately, I'm planning on adding (and changing) a lot associated with the United States. Expect some massive "ripple effect" changes to the rest of the timeline. I'll admit I'm attached to the idea of equivalents to WWI and WWII, but we'll see what happens from "1812" or so on. Point to the new "symbol test page" instead of top of timeline or "what's new" page for discussion of the alpha symbol and other non-English glyphs. Recorded a show about the Battle of King's Mountain off the History Channel, but haven't had time to do more than start watching it, so I may throw some more about the era into the timeline. One strong possibility is addressing how Ferguson and Tarleton get along better in the Drakaverse than OTL.
Pre-ordered "Lunar 2: Eternal Blue" from the only Electronics Boutique in the vicinity of Albuquerque. Now we'll see if they get the puppet sometime around when the game comes out AND remember to hold on to them and only give 'em to people who pre-ordered like me… Picked up 3 more games, and some more info about release dates, and put it all on the console RPG page. Got some time in with Monsterseed, so the text file for that game was updated. Just received the demo disc for Wild Arms 2 in the mail, only a few weeks after I got the game used; what is SCEA thinking? Spoiler: the 5 hidden letters are F L A M E, I wonder what they spell? :)
Added the "symbol test for web browsers" page to the site. It's something that I developed a while ago, but finally decided to let y'all see. Maybe somebody with WebTV, or one of the other web browsers besides Netscape and M$IE, can let me know how this looks to them.
26 June 2000
Did a review of "Venus Select". Modified my H games list too. Added a text file of copy protection codes for Cobra Mission. They're unverified, don't remember where I got them, but they're up only because Megatech is apparently out of business (again). Got the stuff on the Polish "Knight of Xentar" page translated (thanks Darker!) and put what was useful in the KoX text file. All of which is available from both
the H games page and
H games table page.
The release date board at the local Gamespot had revised dates for Rhapsody and Digimon World, so I put that info on the console RPG page.
Put more language specifiers into the HTML in parts of the Draka 2α timeline. Made Corsica a French or German territory on several maps. Changes to comments on events in 1855. Now using direct links from timeline events to the relevant portion of the Small Arms document. No significant new content yet.
Changes to Space Sirens and Neurodancer text files, and added text files for "Space Sirens 2" and "Diva-X Rebecca". All of these are available on
the adult non-anime games page. That page has been changed around to alphabetize the games, and account for the apparent disappearance of Reactor.
Got the latest (June) Silicon magazine - finally - and found a lot of promises in it. Added them to
the console RPG page.
23 June 2000
Found a Polish page for Knight of Xentar, with pictures from Metal & Lace nearby. Link added to both
the H games page and
H games table page. Lots of minor HTML cleanup on both too.
Added "Space Sirens" to
the adult non-anime games page. Minor HTML cleanup there too. Changed "Virtual Vixens" and "Neurodancer" files too. Expect to add "Diva-X Rebecca" and "Space Sirens 2" soon.
18 June 2000
Put "Legend of Fairies" and "Fairy Nights" on the completed H games pile. Hint/review file (no walkthrough or photoshop needed) for them available on the H games page or H games table page (added a link for ZyX, and info about their known games here too). Updated my list of H games too for these games.
Expect changes to "Virtual Vixens" info soon too. Recently got "Space Sirens", and it contains some info about VV that I didn't know before. Plus SS seems to play exactly the same way.
Minor change to the sitemap regarding files and pages for "mainstream" games.
Changes for Alundra 2, Vanguard Bandits, Legend of Mana and Legend of Dragoon on the console RPG page.
12 June 2000
"Viper M1" added to the completed H games pile. File for it available from the H games page or H games table page. Updated my list of H games too for this game and several others that I got at A-Kon last week. "Season of the Sakura" photoshop will have to wait until I can figure out what's different about the data compared to "Runaway City." Minor changes to the files for "Fatal Relations" and "Love Potion" regarding alternate names for the game, but I'm confirming them with Himeya Soft.
Figured out that I basically had "Oh! Pai" completed and had been sitting on it for a long time. Sorry! Appropriate changes to the H games page, H games table page and my list of H games. You can get the OHPAIFIX.ZIP package of rules, saved games, and damaged file fixes too. Thanks to whoever put together OHPAIFIX back in 1997! (I'm pretty sure it wasn't me.)
An update on Megatech and HWJ: trying the Megatech address now puts you at somebody's "portal" site, but hwj.net seems to be down. More as it develops.
09 June 2000
changes from 30 May to this date
Data from recent purchases, and a revision to put the game lists in table form, on the Console RPG page.
Finished Septerra Core! If I was paying attention to the emails I get, I'd now rush out a complete walkthrough for Robotrek… But I went to the A-Kon in Dallas recently, so now I have even more H games to play! Not to mention all the things I should be doing for my family instead of the rest of the world… We'll see. Should also put some more pictures of Drew up, and therefore need to redesign his page with thumbnails to avoid long initial load times. I guess the next H game will be Season of the Sakura, just to get it out of the way. Aside from one session soon after I got it, I haven't touched this game since July 1997!
21 May 2000
Sightings from latest visit to a Gamespot store, and info pulled from the latest "Silicon Magazine", put in the Console RPG page.
Himeya Soft had some links to Japanese H games companies that I hadn't noticed before (Libido, Crowd, Mink, Parsley, Fairytale, Cocktail Soft [apparently also part of F&C], Hard Cover [ditto], Foster, Tactics, and May-Be Soft (MBS)/Truse), so I added them to the H games table page where appropriate. Fixed up a few names so they look more like what's on the Japanese pages. But there are just too many Japanese H games out there though to keep track of, so expect no changes in the "don't have yet" list from now on if they're not in English. Added more links in the list of English games producers at the top of the table page, and the shorter text list page.
Noticed that the links for Virtual Valerie stuff are basically broken, so updated the adult non-anime page.
Added a January 1941 map to the Second Great War in the Draka 2α timeline and changed the 1940 map. But I won't call the 1941 map "final" until I can research the extent of the Dutch East Indies and French territories in the Pacific.
Got a partially working photoshop for "3 Sisters' Story" from Bowlingman, and figured out how to make it work completely! Since Peter Payne says he's OK with it, you can get it on the H games page or H games table page. Updated my list of H games too. Expect to see this method applied to other JAST games without a photoshop, but don't bug me about when they'll be done.
Took me about a day, but I got a photoshop for "Runaway City" out of what I had for "3 Sisters' Story". Had to figure out pointers and codes using trial and error, and eventually gave up on a multiple level menu because I couldn't figure out all the pointers. Anyway, get it from the same places listed above.
Another round of site validation using The W3 HTML Validation Service. Caught minor errors on practically every page checked, but nothing fatal that I know of. Word 97 has this nasty habit of creating non-standard characters for quote marks and ellipsis that get into my code when I copy/paste, but hopefully those have just been putting only occasional single bad characters on your screen. Music (MIDI) handling still isn't standard, but I'm using the most compatible code that I know of, which therefore offends all the browsers somehow! The code supplied by the Geocities/Yahoo server at the bottom of my pages is also still offensive to the validator, but I got nothing helpful from Geocities/Yahoo the last time that I complained…
Been playing "Septerra Core" at home lately. But I'll probably give what I've found to the authors of the walkthroughs that I've been using, rather than writing my own.
Because it's easier to remember than "/TimesSquare/Arcade/7810", and in case I ever decide to leave Geocities and sell H games through my site, I'm now going to publicize the adult games portions of my site as being at http://www.geocities.com/hentaihelper/. So all the text files for adult and H games, and the pages that point to them, now refer to that address. Don't be surprised if I remove the non-H stuff to a different site someday; my Draka stuff has been receiving more effort, but the H files get tons more hits.
Finally found the information I wrote a long time ago for Virtual Vixens. And noticed my email was missing from my Ultra Vixen file. Both of these text files can be found on the Adult Non-Anime Games page.
Put some discussion about the covers of "Marching Through Georgia" and "Under The Yoke" on my Draka page. Added a timeline based on Ben Breeck's "How I Damned the World" fanfic, which I think he approved. ("Yes, you can." is a little ambiguous.)
Finished all the internal links and reformatting that I should have done before I first posted the Dragon Wars page.
Added file sizes for the downloadable ZIP files to the pages where you get them from. Just so nobody's surprised by how big or small these things are. Minor cleanup of the text file for the H game Crescent for this issue.
23 April 2000 (Happy Easter!)
Some re-uploads to fix minor problems on yesterday's massive update, but they probably occurred before anyone but me noticed them.
Minor additions to the files for Ambivalenz, Kotobuki, Fatal Relations, Amy's Fantasies and Nocturnal Illusion on the H games page and H games table page.
21 April 2000
Actually these changes are for 22 January to this date, but I wasn't ready to release them all, especially the Draka ones.
Made the display of the "Contacting Pete/Us" area consistent across all the pages where I ask you to contact me somewhere in the page's content.
Minor revisions on all the pages with tables. Nothing to worry about, I hope. Trying to make them less dependent on your browser screen width being any particular value. Unfortunately, some of the really wide ones (like on the Hard Nova page and the H games table page) will have problems on a browser that can't scroll sideways, like WebTV. People using WebTV are apparently stuck with a 560*384 screen maximum, 544*376 suggested size. But I've gone to the trouble of checking all my pages using the Screen Size Tester at the anybrowser.com site, and only those two mentioned above had problems. So there are now disclaimers on those pages telling WebTV users to go elsewhere. The alternative is to make the font so small that everyone else complains.
Changed underlining to boldface like this on many pages per HTML 4 recommendations, especially the Wizardry VII page. It's not nice to make something look like a link (on a visual browser) when you just want to emphasize it.
On the Legend of Legaia demo FAQ page: more warnings about the Symbol font and Unicode, some extra spacing between blocks of text, and added home-made icons for the PSX buttons!
Added "External Link" images to several places that lacked them. My philosophy is that stuff that reads like a website address doesn't need one (e.g. http://www.something.com/), but links embedded in stuff like "to an interesting site here" do. Links within my site therefore don't have an image associated with them, except when I think it looks good. Makes sense?
Added what I've got in the way of PSX RPGs, don't have yet, want to get, and might never see to the Console Role-Playing Games page. Picked up several games used in the past weeks, but haven't had time to play more than a few hours!
Lots of minor changes throughout the Draka 2α timeline, accessible from the main timeline page; you might as well read the whole thing again! Some of them are just (more consistently) using "Drakan" and "Drakans" instead of "Draka" though. I did backtrack a little and partially rewrote what used to be the 1948 amalgamation events found here. May go back to the American Civil War too, since this shouldn't be anything close to OTL, but I think that can wait. Some of this is due to books about the Civil War, economic geography, and the Papacy around WWII that I read recently. Also made some changes to 1943 in detail by adding the British raid on Cherbourg. OTL Thailand changed name from Siam in 1949, so changed minor portions of the timeline to compensate.
Changed the caption (ALT text) for the 1805 map in the Draka 2α timeline. Put map image into a table so a text disclaimer and an explanatory note came out nice. Fixed up the Spanish and US territory in the continental US, but I'm not confident about what I put in for Canada. See the page with the map here. And added another OTL WWII poster to the timeline, here in the middle of the Second Great War.
Added a Small Arms Development page to the Draka 2α timeline, plus appropriate modifications made to the adjacent timeline pages and sitemap. The new page is rather obviously plagiarized from the Small Arms Development appendix in "The Stone Dogs", but there are lots of changes to conform to the Draka 2α timeline, and indulge my desire for creative writing. If any firearms experts want to beat up my profile of the Dreyse Model 1841, or tell me what Telliard's revolver was like, here's how. Discovered some minor word omissions in my transcription of Appendix 11 while I was at it, so expect Anne-Marie Talbott to post a revision of it someday on her Draka site (now gone).
Did some research on internationalization while trying to find some way to represent a few more accented letters. Stumbled on a way to get IE 4.0 (4.72.3110.8) to show the lowercase alpha using <PRE>, but it puts blank lines on either side.
Maintaining this page by moving entries more than about 6 months old to the "what WAS new" page will now pass without further comment.
Rearranged the order of the character set declaration and page title stuff in the HEAD section of all my HTML files. Shouldn't change anything except possibly for people with a really old Netscape browser. But according to guidelines I found, it's what I'm supposed to do.
Megatech Software declared dead again, Hentai World Japan temporarily joined them - websites for H games companies (sellers/distributors) that used to work but now don't. Otaku has removed all their H content, and seems to have abandoned the promised games like Crazy Knuckle. Added more games assistance links and better contact links to the H games page, and the H games table.
Because iso-8859-1, utf-8 and iso-10646 agree on the double quote character ("), changed all " on my pages to ", except for special cases inside HTML tags.
Working on the ALT texts for images throughout the site. Adding some TITLE attributes to some links too.
FAQ for SNES game Arcana updated with a link to a transcribed manual, a new GG code, and some Pro Action Replay codes. Updated a second time with info about the card border colors and maximum level.
Bo Johansson (see 07 to 14 November 1999 change) reference is now to website instead of email.
Pages with MIDI music now have a link to the file, so even those without EMBED or SCRIPT or BGSOUND support in their browsers can now access the file.
Caught a dumb copy/paste mistake on the "what WAS new" page referring to itself when it shouldn't.
Fixed up the "common" sections at the bottom of all my pages, mostly for navigation text that doesn't assume where you came from.
On the Wizardry 6 page, Wyvern is now female (with a name like Jeanne Wyvern Harlan-Marriot, I don't know what I was thinking before). Can't find a valid email for her, so I'm going to post my Dragon Wars stuff here and take my lumps if she finds out and gets upset.
Added "no profit" clause to my copyright infringement disclaimer.
Minor changes to the text files for "Ace of Spades" and "Princess Maker 2", reached from my H games page, and H games table page. H games table page also slightly modified to be more consistent in providing information, and made some minor updates to game status and links.
Working on two more Draka pages: a rant about problems with technology in "The Stone Dogs", and an expanded timeline for Ben Breeck's "How I Damned the World" fanfic.
Solve file for Nocturnal Illusion added to the H games page and the H games table page. File with an FAQ and directions on how to get a CG patch file for Kotobuki added to the same pages. And a file with directions for a CG patch for the AmbivalenZ game added too. Also added entries for the expected English games "Transfer Student" (Mon Mon Gakuen), "Legend of Fairies" and "Fairy Night" to the H Games Table page and Pete's list of H games. All my H games text files (except the PM2 FAQ) now have a consistent trading policy: "would like to trade adult anime games besides ones released in English". That should make it a bit clearer for everybody.
I'm also looking for ECC files - the kind you display with ECCVIEW. I estimate that I have about 75% of what used to be on the Black Squadron site, but that's been gone for a while, and Mok isn't responding to my emails. If you have a bunch of ECC files, or know how Mok creates them from games, let me know!
18 January 2000
Added a real WWII propaganda poster that's amazingly appropriate to the Second Great War on the Draka 2α timeline. Thanks to The Radium League timeline for showing it to me! The original was too dark, so I brightened it up enough that you can now see the cleric in the shadow. I've since found a few others that might be suitable, but there's no rush to put them in, is there?
Expect more mostly-invisible HTML tweaks throughout the the Draka 2α, as I inflict language specifiers on the italicized (EMphasized) foreign words.
Don't know if anyone reads this stuff, but Distributed.net, the distributed computing effort that I participate in, just completed the CSC contest to win 10,000 Euros. If you want a miniscule chance of getting in on the $10,000 for the RC5-64 contest, there's still time to join! I won't press you to join my team (which is in the top 10 overall), or any of them, but I think it's a great use of idle CPU cycles that otherwise are wasted.
Chopped off the site revisions for more than 6 months ago, and put them on a "what WAS new" page ("what's old" didn't sound right).
Added a "Questions & Answers" page to collect all the comments thus far. One comment gave me an idea, so there may be some backtracking in the 1948+ region soon. Not knowing that somebody else has nuclear weapons can be a terrible thing…
In preparation for adding some text at the end of Chapter 3 in the "Connecticut Yankee" fanfic, put chapter 3 in its own file and made a few changes throughout, mostly to shorten a few sentences. Assuming AMT loves it, you should see the first appearance of Rynn Wartock in a few days.
This should remind me to fix up the counters for the rearranged fanfic chapter pages once I upload them!
A draft addition to the "Connecticut Yankee" fanfic, where you'll see
your first Draka in the piece, has been shipped off to AMT and SMS to
look at.
I'll also apologize here for making Anne's life miserable with
sending her more changes to the novel appendices that I typed in for her
website.
Working on an FAQ for a really old PC RPG called "Psychic War."
I thought I had the beginning of a revised walkthrough for Robotrek based on
several hours of play from the beginning, but it looks like I erased it during
the recent backup and restore frenzy involving my new home computer, or the
switch from several floppies to a Zip disk for carrying my master website
files around. Sorry guys! (I haven't been responding to most of your emails,
I know!)
But the good news is that several days ago I sent emails to several sites that had
old versions (in some cases the very first one) of my Robotrek FAQ, asking them
to update. No responses yet.
10 January 2000
References to the old text version of the four fours FAQ (which was removed)
in this file are now to the HTML version.
Changed the spreadsheet for Hard Nova to a web page, so you don't have to have
that Microsoft application. And since the "other" FAQ for the game seems
to have disappeared from the Net, will be folding in what I have. So,
my Hard Nova page is rather big (over 100K!).
Cross-linked the new page to the sitemap
and computer games help pages too.
07 January 2000
Switched to HTML 4.01 DTD for all HTML files.
Rewrote tables on the Four Fours FAQ page and
others, but practically no significant changes to content.
Fixed a subtle error in the HTML of almost all the
Draka 2α timeline pages.
A few minor tweaks here and there too, but I haven't gotten around to addressing
the comments I already have - yet.
And fixed a page missing from
the sitemap
(which none of you seem to use anyway!).
04 January 2000
Tracked down all my pages with MIDI music and fixed them like
I said on the 1st.
Figured out a photoshop patch for Giri Giri Telephone Call, so that's been added
to my H games page, and put in the solved category on
my H games table. Minor fix to the table too.
A few minor tweaks to
the Draka 2α timeline,
regarding "Québec" and inserting a drakon emblem image when the
FRD renames itself the Domination of the Draka.
I've got some comments and research to consider implementing still.
Added my email and website addresses to the few text files on this website that
were lacking them. Luckily, the copies of my files that I've found on other
websites lately have all had both already, and the "pay" sites have had my
files in a "free" area. Please let me know if you
find any "pay" sites that are charging for access to my
files, and I'll ask them to cease & desist and remove the files, or grant me
free membership access.
(I think you can guess what they'll do.)
Changed from the 8859-7 character set (Greek) back to 8859-1 (the standard English
one) on all the pages it was being used, because it caused Netscape Communicator
4.7 on my PC to show "Québec" as "Qu?bec".
01 January 2000
Happy New Year! I'll let the issue of "New Millenium or not" pass. I'm
sure lots of people will party next year regardless. So far Y2K seems to be a
non-event; I got lots of extra water to drink now!
Fixing up the pages with MIDI music to try to consistently set volume at 50% no
matter how the music is invoked.
Now have both Internet Explorer 5.0 and Netscape Communicator 4.7 at home,
so the home page now refers to them as tested
browsers.
Switched from ISO 8859-7 to -1 on this page, so the "é"
character (lowercase "e" with accent acute) will display correctly.
I think it works on IE 4.0 regardless, but not Netscape 4.7, and I'm going
for compatibility here rather than hoping the Greek character set will
suddenly start showing the lowercase alpha after several months that it hasn't.
21 December 1999
Added an external link to a great computer and console game FAQs site onto my
console role-playing games page.
Should have done this a while ago.
Lots of minor changes to the
Draka 2α timeline,
mostly in the Second Great War period. There are still some comments that I
haven't incorporated, particularly those regarding the 1948 amalgamation.
Keep 'em coming though!
People "borrowing" my FAQs or files MUST read the usage
policy posted on the main/home page.
Head for the hills! Added my (in progress) POKéMON FAQ and a ZIPped
POKÉDEX (incomplete, done in Microsoft® Access 97) to the
console role-playing games page.
Kind of ironic that I'm using a professional relational database to present
information about a handheld game thingie on a par with a graphic calculator.
And that I'm using an emulator running on a 200 MHz processor to play it at
home.
Minor changes to all HTML to reduce validation errors found by
W3C Validator
and Site Inspector.
Had to add the </A> to all <A NAME=…>,
changed to   and " to " where I spotted them,
and added some </P> and </LI> in places.
Updated the home page
to fix a minor HTML error I thought I got months ago, and
also refer to the new version of Netscape I'm using.
Fixed a minor cosmetic glitch seen in Netscape on several pages linking back to
the home page.
05 November 1999
After adding several more websites I found on the subject, I converted
The Four Fours puzzle FAQ to HTML.
Had to change several other pages to account for that.
Goodbye text file!
Added "Fatal Relations" (English version of "Kindan No Ketuzoku")
to the list of solved H games on the
H games page and
H games table page.
Pete's game list fixed to reflect this.
Fixed up a reference to the missing file on "Dragon Wars" there too.
I'll upload it soon, maybe convert it to HTML.
Rearranged the sitemap
so adding more pages with counters will be easier in the future.
Delayed by inability to upload to Geocities on the 4th.
01 November 1999
Revised my "Draka 2α" timeline again
based on thoughts about WWII Britain and stuff I found on other websites.
Seriously considering an American Civil War period similar to Harry Harrison's
"Stars & Stripes Forever" but haven't implemented it for real yet.
Direct link to the HTML here,
or go through the Domination of the Draka page.
If you have any comments, let me know.
Revised the Eurasian War scenario materials on the
Domination of the Draka page.
Still working on my alternate timeline and "Connecticut Yankee"
fanfic too, but not ready to post them yet.
Minor revisions to the
"four fours" puzzle FAQ. [link removed as text file now HTML]
Found a PC version of Vandal Hearts, so revised the Combined Guide on my
Console Role-Playing Games help page.
Nobody has complained about my plagiarism of the other guides yet…
Added a timeline for the post-Eurasian War period in the original Domination
timeline, unauthorized but using my best judgement of events described in
"The Stone Dogs".
Direct link to the HTML here,
or go through the Domination of the Draka page.
Added a few jumps to my email address and ICQ number so it's easier
to contact me
while reading items on this page.
15 September 1999
Changes to the META tags and Javascript on the HTML files in my site,
no major content changes.
I'll get around to the other pages on my site soon.
19 July 1999
Changes to Pete's Games List for Yume, Yumemisaka, True Love and May Club.
New files on the H games page and
H games table page for
True Love and May Club.
Let me know if you have more info on how to get
any of the girls (or boys!) in either game.
A few fixes to
the H games table page
to supply more data and convenient links to games companies - more can be done…
Upgraded the software on my home PC, so compatibility with Word 6.0 isn't
guaranteed anymore (finally installed Office 97) for .DOC files. I
haven't heard any complaints before,
so sing out if going to a more
recent version of Word causes you problems!
Played around with the "Susie" graphics viewer and some plug-ins,
modified the files for Sakuwin and X-Girl to explain how to use
Susie to display the images in those games.
Got the new v1.1 English patch for Ace of Spades, updated the file for
that game to cover it.
I made a mistake regarding "Yume" and
"Yumemisaka", so I updated the Yumemisaka file.
Incorporated an old French walkthrough for "Mad Paradox"
into my file for that game.
Uploaded my "in progress" notes for Breath of Fire III (BOF3) to the
Console Role-Playing Games help page,
includes comments on other BOF3 FAQs and my own info on Dragon Genes.
01 July 1999
Still working on May Club, True Love is next (I promise!).
Changes to the H Games FAQ, Ace of Spades, VG Fighter and Pete's Games List files,
all reached from the
H games page or
H games table page.
Also added a link to
Anime Nation
(sells Otaku, JAST USA and other English game products) on those two pages.
Collating a master H games database spreadsheet from all the lists of H games that
I've collected over the years. It may replace or supplement the existing list
and table page.
Still waiting to hear from Megatech.
Whenever I get back to it, still playing "Breath of Fire III" on the PSX. I should
put my in-progress files up…
Did some external link checking and maintenance.
28 June 1999
Fixed up my Draka pages with the same changes I installed elsewhere, and
backfilled a few minor tweaks elsewhere. I think I got them all now.
Update to my Virtual Valerie 2 file to add a website with a lot of hints,
and you can buy the game from there too.
I discovered that MS Internet Explorer crashes instead of properly handling links
within the same page while the file is local. And IE also thinks my LINK tag is
trying to invoke a style sheet. Read the HTML on some of my pages if you really
care.
27 June 1999
Lots of changes to all the HTML files, but mostly coding and formatting,
not content. Replaced anti-frames JavaScript with my own creation. All links
external to my site should now have a link image next to them. May have missed a
few changes here and there…
I think I have a request to do "True Love" after "May Club."
Added Ultra Vixen to H games list. It qualifies as both Adult and H, since it's
anime although I don't know if there was ever a Japanese product it was converted
from. Added Pixis and Ultra Vixen websites to links on
adult games help page.
Added "Hentai World Japan" to list of English H games companies links, even though
they currently don't sell any English language products. Just did it so I have all
the places I could order games from in one list. [Server not found as of early
2000]
Megatech Software's website is back up,
waiting to hear if they have new products in the works.
24 June 1999
Reformatted all the text files that load into Notepad to 66 characters per line,
so they print out nicer on my home printer. Nobody was complaining, but it
bothered me. You don't need to download these files again, there are either
no content changes or very minor ones.
Working on the English H game "May Club", will post a comprehensive spoiler file
after I get approval from the creators.
Minor addition to the "Cobra Mission" file regarding the saved game file.
added a file for "Amy's Fantasies" to the
H games page and
H games table.
31 March 1999
Massive update to the Eurasian War scenario materials on the
Domination of the Draka page.
Began a novel-length fanfic, tentatively titled "A Connecticut Yankee in the
Archon's Court". I'll get at least another chapter done before I post it.
Additions to my H games list, and modified the
H games page
and made the
H games table
easier to get to.
Added files for "Takeru: Letter of the Law" (non-H so it's on
the main games help page), and
Immoral Study #1: Reiko Shirakawa (English version) on the
H games page.
More minor changes to the Domination of the Draka page,
updated the Eurasian War scenario file (still in progress), posted a new
Draka fanfic (this one a "Drakon" / "Batman: The Animated Series" crossover).
The last may be modified later, to fill in details in the middle.
Updated the Domination of the Draka page
with more links, different graphics, and a bit more text.
EURASIAN.ZIP updated but the Eurasian War scenario is still in progress.
Minor changes to DRAKSIMP.DOC, but there may be more when I find my copy of
Drakon.
Someday I'll get around to playing Robotrek again to answer all the questions
that I keep getting about my FAQ.
19 January 1999
Posted my
Domination of the Draka page
with a Drakon / Simpsons crossover fanfic and
a Eurasian War scenario (still in progress) for the old Third Reich wargame.
On all pages, replaced my email address with my ISP's new server.
Thanks to Carl for reminding me.
My IE can now play MIDI files, but still can't run JavaScript.
01 November 1998
Fixed a JavaScript mistake on Drew's page,
thanks to "The Dragon" from South Africa!
Updated the version of IE used for checking my site, but it didn't catch the error
above, because this installation doesn't allow file downloads or running
JavaScript.
20 October 1998
Added a Drew page,
with a picture of our little treasure. He's almost a year old now.
Still no comments about what's on this page… Guess nobody wants a free H game!
Added "Princess Maker 2" to the
H games page,
and changed my H games list. There's a small text file and a large FAQ for PM2,
because I heavily modified the existing FAQ for the Japanese version.
Posted a combined guide for "Vandal Hearts" for the PSX on the
Console Role-Playing Games help page.
The text file was so big (over 200K) that I put it in a ZIP file. If anybody
complains about their FAQ being used in my file, away goes the whole thing!
Apparently nobody reads this page, because I've received no comments about what's on
here. Maybe if I offered to give away an H game…
Working on "Breath of Fire 3" on the PSX, generating my usual stuff over and above
the existing FAQs.
30 May 1998
Added Chikan to the
H games page,
and changed my H games list.
Working on "Vandal Hearts" for the PSX, expect a text file for it when done.
I lost several H games to a hard disk problem.
22 April 1998
Changes to ALL my HTML to install more ALT tags for the images I didn't
get last time, anti-frame JavaScript and page reload links, better MIDI handling,
and a DTD at the top.
Took out ampersands in page titles, weren't being handled properly by browsers.
Finally figured out I had P and BR tags wrong in many places.
21 April 1998
Changes to ALL my HTML to install ALT tags for images, my ICQ #,
individual page counters, and a single point for overall site information
(copyrights, etc.).
Tips for "Beyond the Beyond" on the Playstation, which supplement the great
walkthrough done by Steve Edelman, available on the
Console Role-Playing Games help page.
More changes to H games list.
Since people are apparently ignoring it on the computer games
help page, I put a link to my site ground rules and language about not trading
English language hentai games on the
H games page.
I just wish people would check through my site before they ask me questions that
I went to the trouble of answering already…
Changed the Yumemizaka (Yumemi) file, my H games list, and the
H games page.
02 January 1998
File for Yumemizaka (Yumemi) added to
H games page,
along with revisions to my H games list,
and minor changes to the files for Lakers and Lakers2.
Added link to Edsa's saved game site.
Found some of my text files on web sites and FTP sites, but nobody ever bothered to tell me they were there.
Some of them very old versions too.
All you hentai, please let me know if you post my stuff
to sites, because if I don't know where it is, I can't update it!
29 December 1997
A minor revision to the Robotrek FAQ.
Finished Suikoden for the PSX, and created a "Tips and Tricks" file which picks up
where Iwata Shoji's leaves off. All on the
Console Role-Playing Games help page.
Added a Console Role-Playing Games help page.
Posted FAQ and manual for the Robotrek SNES RPG from Enix,
and notes for "Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest" for the SNES from Square.
Revised the H Games FAQ, H Games List, and the PeroPero Candy (Pcan) file on the
H games page.
Added the Jpoker (JPK) game to the same pile as Silk.
More changes to the H Games FAQ and my H Games List.
Updated the Angel (B3X) solve.
13 July 1997
The S309.E file needed by CRESCENT is on the
H games page.
Updated the CRESCENT.TXT file and my H Games FAQ.
Added a new page for my FAQ on the "four fours" mathematical puzzle. It's
Pete's non-games page.
06 July 1997
"X-GIRL" solved. H games list updated.
04 July 1997
"PeroPero Candy" solve posted. Updated my H games list.
23 June 1997
Fixed some minor glitches (line too long) in some text files for H games, maybe some changes to content too.
Updated my H games list.
04 June 1997
"Ace of Spades" solved.
Had some problems with my sound card, a SB 32 AWE PnP, so files for several H games now mention a workaround.
Updated my H games list again.
Added link to Li Sun's (saved games and game descriptions) site.
28 May 1997
Improved browser compatibility of age access warning on the
H games page.
Tried to improve music support, trial on one page only so far.
Added script and code that should prevent my pages from appearing in other people's frames.
20 May 1997
Another "solved" hentai game: SAKUWIN.
Updated my H games list for that.
19 May 1997
Changes to site ground rules and H games FAQ files.
Updated my H games list for more games I've heard of.
16 May 1997
Another "solved" hentai game: Chick's Tale.
Updated my H games list for that and games I've heard of.
12 May 1997
Two more "solved" hentai games: Silk, Mad Paradox.
Updated my H games list for those 2, and new games received.
Put my existing files for "solved" H anime games on the
H games help page.
Revised my H games FAQ and list files.
23 April 1997
Minor changes all over.
Added more links to anime games sellers on the
games help page.
If you know of any others selling anime games in English for the PC,
let me know!
Added to all pages the META stuff that AltaVista uses for indexing.
22 April 1997
Checked my HTML and site content against the
Composing Good HTML (v 2.0.9)
page, and the Web Techs HTML Validation Service
[link removed: site no longer provides capability].
Changes made should result in better compatibility with browsers besides
Netscape® Navigator and Microsoft® Internet Explorer, and improve the site's
presentation. Changed all pages.
14 April 1997
Initial
hentai games help page
posted. Thanks to the Ant guy for a working age popup script on his page.
Revised my H games FAQ.
11 April 1997
Minor changes throughout my site. Checked my HTML code against the Rough Guide to HTML [link removed: site gone].
27 March 1997
Got a site address on Geocities. We're on the Net now!
More pages written, others revised. Snitched GIFs off other sites and installed some as backgrounds.
Installed MIDI music (forcing one particular plug-in) on some pages.
12 March 1997
Initial versions of several pages for this site first written and tested. Not on the Net yet.
