The first obstacle to any German plan for an air attack on London was the simple fact that in 1937 the Luftwaffe lacked any bombers with sufficient range to even reach the French coast, much less cross into British airspace and strike at London. The second obstacle was that most of the bombers the Luftwaffe did have were badly needed in Poland and Czechoslovakia to fend off the advancing Red Army...
