Fritz Kuhn’s case was the O.J. trial of its day. Newsreel cameras from every corner of the globe converged on a federal courthouse in Manhattan to get a first-hand look at the German-American Bund leader on the day that he was indicted; newspapers tripped over each other in the race to be the first to print his mug shot on their front pages...

The Battle of the Vistula marked a critical turning point in the war in the East for both the Soviet and the Germans. PM Condemns “Wanton Act Of Aggression” Against Neutrals

From Panzers: Fist Of The Third Reich:

Even at the time it was launched, some of Hitler’s generals regarded the Holland offensive as a costly mistake; today it is widely viewed as the primary catalyst for the chain of events that would culminate in Germany’s final defeat in the Second World War. Not only did it divert troops from other more urgent military priorities, it also further inflamed already bitter international hatred against the Nazis; for the anti-German guerrilla forces in occupied Italy the Netherlands invasion served as a way to motivate their troops to step up resistance to the occupiers...
