just after 11:00 AM London time this morning. Witnesses at the scene

of the catastrophe say that during final approach the Airbus jet began

tilting wildly, then fell into an abrupt nosedive and slammed headfirst

into the Air Canada terminal at about 620 miles per hour; moments

after impact, the jet exploded, spraying shrapnel in all directions and

touching off a gigantic fire which the London fire brigade is still trying

to extinguish at this hour…

head coach Don Nelson was killed in the freak tornado that struck the Fort Worth area nearly

three days ago. Search and rescue workers found Nelson’s body inside the wreckage of a

helicopter late this afternoon; at the time of his death Nelson had been scheduled to tape a TV

interview at the CBS affiliate in Fort Worth and was apparently flying to the affiliate’s studios

at the time of the crash...

The death toll continues to climb in Papua New Guinea in the wake of the horrific

devastation inflicted there yesterday by Typhoon Miranda. The body count now stands
